Welcome to Economics!

This course is designed to provide an introduction to the vast and influential world of economics. Topics discussed will vary from basic subject area vocabulary to variations in economic habits by culture and country and even so far as what the future might look like as national loyalties shift and corporate influences grow. Students will be introduced to the major characteristics of the mixed market economic system in the U.S. and how basic economic questions are answered. Emphasis will be placed on the individual’s role as producer, consumer, saver and taxpayer in relation to the system.

While there is no true consensus on economic theory, everyone can agree that exposure to the subject is vital to developing an understanding and appreciation of the interconnectedness of the world economy.
