My background

From 2007-2017 Mr. Wellington worked as a teacher at Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, CA, where he taught AP US History, Economics, History through Film, Journalism and World Studies and Cultures.

His most recent teaching assignment was in Rocklin at Spring View Middle School, where he taught World History and started a journalism elective class that produced four magazines.

He is excited to move back to high school and believes that Oak Ridge High School is an ideal fit.

Outside of teaching, Mr. Wellington loves to read, travel and watch soccer, especially his beloved (albeit struggling) Manchester United.

Teaching Philosophy

It is my sincere hope that all my students feel welcomed and safe as learners and that they are encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and challenge understood norms while in my classroom.

“Read not to contradict and confute; nor to believe and take for granted; nor to find talk and discourse; but to weigh and consider." Francis Bacon

My family

Mr. Wellington married his wife Heather in 2008 and they have two children, Liam 4 and Ava 2.
